Raised on a sheep and cattle farm in rural Australia, Anna now lives on Sydney’s Northern Beaches with her husband and three children. She freelances as a food writer and recipe developer, sharing her love of natural, unprocessed whole foods through her Instagram and website. Her recipes and photography reflect her personal food philosophy: simple, nourishing and full of flavour.
Anna has over 20 years’ experience in print and digital media. She has worked as a recipe editor at Marley Spoon, written recipes for Tesco in London, and collaborated with renowned chef Melissa Hemsley. She was the former Senior Editor of Best Restaurants of Australia and has contributed to lifestyle platforms including Women’s Day, New Idea, The Sun-Herald, Shape Magazine Australia, Australian Yoga Journal, and Australian Gluten Free Life. She has also co-hosted Fresh, a radio show dedicated to dining and restaurants on Sydney’s top-rated station, 2GB.
In 2014, Anna appeared with her mother, Cathy, as a contestant on Australia’s highest-rating television show, My Kitchen Rules, with their episode attracting 2.25 million viewers. Following the show, Anna and Cathy launched The Walcha Kitchen, a cooking school at their family property in rural New South Wales, where they ran classes and produced gourmet granola and muesli before Anna moved to London.
